Jack Johnson
Jack Johnson has been the Director of Cincinnati Sound Chorus since August 2020. He is a well-sought out vocalist and performer. Hailing from the Cincinnati, Ohio area, Jack holds a Bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance and Music Education from Bethel College in Mishawaka, Indiana. Prior to studying at Bethel, he attended Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky, where he studied Vocal Performance.
Jack’s tenure at CSC has been one marked with success and achievement. In his 3 plus years with the chorus, he has opened up opportunities for performance and has lead the chorus to great placings at the Harmony Heartland regional competitions. He became a Certified Sweet Adelines director in October of 2021 and quickly moved to Certified Harmony 500 Director after the 2022 regional contest. Most recently, the chorus scored an impressive 600 which promoted Jack to Master Director status within the organization. In that same year, the chorus received the prestigious Most Improved Chorus award. Additionally, Jack has established Yuletide Celebration, the annual show for Cincinnati Sound, worked to develop great donor relationships and is looking for more opportunities to get CSC local and regional recognition.
Currently, Jack is enrolled in the Certified Arrangers program with Sweet Adelines and is working on arranging new music for Cincinnati Sound. He is an avid lover of musical theatre and enjoys travelling and teaching. In addition to his private voice and piano studio, Jack has taught in public and private schools both in the United States and abroad. He is an accomplished vocalist, pianist, guitarist, and composer. His most recent composition, Missa de Panamá, was completed and is waiting for its premier.
